Child Care in Health Care
Child
Care in Health Care
is the national association for health care
and health care related managers
who operate employer-sponsored child care centers or managers interested
in
service
options for employees with children. As
an industry, health care continues to lead in the support of quality
child care initiatives. Membership in Child Care in Health Care enhances
the scope of options while promoting the highest level of quality
services to employees of health care organizations.
Leaders of Child Care in
Health Care and the National Association
for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) met in 1979 to
discuss the formation of an association designed to meet the specific
needs of child care programs affiliated with health care related
institutions. From this discussion came the formation of Child Care
in Health Care (CCHC), which was incorporated in 1981. Over the
years, Child Care in Health Care's membership has grown to include members in all fifty
states and Canada. Child Care in Health Care responds to its membership with up-to-date
information, a resource network which encourages NAEYC accreditation,
promotes employer sponsored health care,
child care services,
early childhood education,
and opportunities to meet and work with professionals who share
your interest. CCHC works to marshal the leadership and resources necessary to improve the quality, accessibility,
and affordability of child care and early childhood education.
Our vision is that one day, every young child will benefit from high quality early learning opportunities.

Employees are often unsure or unaware of where to turn for child care services. Employees spend a lot of valuable time and energy searching for child care. This growing problem of obtaining child care affects both employer and employee. For parents, the overwhelming task of arranging for child care creates stress and affects work attitudes, absenteeism, longevity, and other critical areas of employee performance. For employers, the loss of productivity takes a huge toll.
Child Care in health care works to promote employer sponsored child care as it promotes both child welfare as well as employee
morale. Child Care in Health Care feels that the benefits of employer sponsored child care not only outweighs the costs, but also gives the employer a great return on investment as well. Click here to learn more about employer sponsored child care.
